Is your diocese effective?

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Saw this on Spirit Daily the other night. It's an article from the National Catholic Register talking about six questions that "successful dioceses all answer 'yes'" to.

Read the article and see how your diocese stacks up. The article talks about how important eucharistic adoration is to vocations, and how being invited by a priest to consider the priesthood plays a big factor as well.

Moving the blog to a new host, so there could be some stuff not working. Just a warning...

My first walk for life!

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Mary was surprised I had never "walked for life" before, but Sunday we walked in the annual pro-life march sponsored by the Grand Traverse Area Right to Life. We loaded up the boys covered with blankets in the stroller, and we set off on the 1/2 hour march through downtown Traverse City with around 100 others. Claire walked almost the entire way herself! Only one guy yelled at us out of his car window, so that was nice.

It's for a great and important cause so we were glad to participate!

The blog made it 1 year!

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

WOW! After experimenting with various types of personal websites for years, I managed to stay with this version for a whole year!

In 2007 look for...

  • more photos...
  • more links...
  • more useless knowledge...
  • and more craziness!

As always you can post comments if you wish or send me any cool stuff you think I should post here. Thanks for visiting!

Great Aunt Eva celebrates 100th birthday

Friday, January 5th, 2007

aunteva100.jpgAunt Eva is my Great Aunt, she is the sister of my Grandpa Herbert Swenson (my mom's dad). Before you say, huh?, I tried writing it a few different ways and they all seemed confusing, so I went with that.

Now if you aren't totally confused, you can pretend to be shocked that myself and my kids have some Swedish heritage as we all tan so well and aren't white as ghosts (heavy sarcasm).

Yes, I am a stubborn Swede and proud of it.

Cool movie about the Maritime Academy

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Helped the Great Lakes Maritime Academy get this movie onto YouTube and Google Video to help promote their maritime college. It's always good to help someone. Anyway, check it out and see what they are all about!
