Ron Paul for President in 2008

October 29th, 2007

Ron Paul 2008He's the best choice. Sure, you've never heard of him, but I'm about to change that.

Go to www.RonPaul2008.com and read for yourself why he's the best choice. Here's a couple of quotes that sum up the work of Ron Paul...

Congressman Paul’s consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, “Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers’ ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are.” Another colleague observed, “There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few.”

So when it's time to vote, remember the Pro-Life and Pro-Family candidate - RON PAUL!

Now you can't say you've never heard of him!

40 Days for Life, plus the Life Chain

September 26th, 2007

I got an email from Casey Truelove and then read Zenit and decided I needed to help. So I am now sharing it with you.

Starting today through November 4th, join me countless others in helping support 40 Days for Life. I'm not close enough to join one of the larger groups in Michigan (Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, or Midland/Bay City/Saginaw) but some prayers and fasting is one way you and I can help.

This fall, 89 cities in 33 states across the nation will unite for a unique pro-life campaign called 40 Days for Life -- an intensive effort designed to raise awareness, save lives, bring healing, and prepare America for the beginning of the end of abortion.

Don't forget that a Life Chain will be held in Traverse City on October 7, 2007, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Grandview Pkwy. and Front St. from Division to Garfield. We'll have the stroller there in support! Check with your local parish to see where they will be!

Want to watch a good movie?

August 16th, 2007

Facing the Giants Movie PosterThen go rent or buy Facing the Giants. I just watched it and it was great. There aren't many movies these days that have a great message and are geared towards the family, but this one is. No sexual content, no violence, and no swearing certainly doesn't mean no entertainment!

Here's the synopsis...

In his six years of coaching, Grant Taylor has never had a winning season. Even the hope of a new season is squelched when the best player on his Shiloh Eagles decides to transfer schools. After losing their first three games of the season, the coach discovers a group of fathers are plotting to have him fired. Combined with pressures at home, Coach Taylor has lost hope in his battle against fear and failure.

However, an unexpected challenge helps him find a purpose bigger than just victories. Daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field … and off.

With God, all things are possible…

I give it two thumbs way up! Seriously do yourself a favor and go watch this movie!

The movie was made by the members of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia with alot of hard work and prayer. While I don't share all their views in regards to religious beliefs, they are delivering a Christian message into our society, and that's a very good thing!

Is TV a waste of money?

July 27th, 2007

Saw this on the Business Opportunities Weblog and it was rather startling. I probably averaged about 3-4 hours per day myself of TV watching, sure I haven't been able to develop it into an online business, but I do get to spend more time with my family. That's a very good thing to me.

A couple of new blogs…

July 24th, 2007

Here's a couple of Catholic blogs with some northern Michigan ties that are both well written and highly entertaining. Check them out!

Stella Maris
If you are in the Petoskey, Michigan area anytime soon, make sure you stop and visit the The Marian Center in Joy Valley. Josh and Lori Mercer have worked hard by hosting conferences, publishing a Catholic newspaper and running a Catholic bookstore. Here's what the Marian Center is all about...

The mission of the Marian Center is to spread the teachings of the Catholic Church by hosting conferences, publishing The Morning Star newspaper six times a year, operating a Catholic bookstore, and maintaining the Holy Grounds of the Marian Center in Petoskey, Michigan, with its Grotto of the Archangels, Tomb of the Unborn Child and Reliquary of the Twelve Apostles.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the hike through the woods with the Stations of the Cross and a stop at the Tomb of the Unborn Child. The kids had a blast looking at all the statues, especially the Grotto of the Archangels. Help Josh and Lori with their mission!

Turning Towards The Lord
Jeremy Priest is a Campus Minister in Detroit, Michigan who started his blog and named it Turning Towards the Lord because...

For a couple of reasons...1st because I know that it is only in turning toward Him that I find salvation; 2nd in order to honor His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, who has been my great teacher these past ten years and has repeatedly brought me to my knees in prayer ad orientem through his books, articles, and talks.

Jeremy has posted lots of great info on the new Latin Mass and what it all means!
